1916 Schoolroom ‘Over by Christmas’
In our First World War schoolroom we look to understand the impact the First World War had on children’s school lives in Leeds, as participants experience the formality of school education in 1916. The workshop aims to encourage a better understanding of the past by experiencing an empathic situation based on real people places and events as we follow the Leeds Battalion (PALS) up to their action on the Somme in July of that year.
