Working with Communities

Working with communities

Our Community Engagement team work with local community groups across all of our nine sites, exploring their connections with the city, past and present.

Our outreach service enables people who cannot easily visit our sites to experience museum objects through handling sessions.

If you would like to know more about our community programme, or explore ways in which your community can be represented at our sites, please contact us:

Leeds Museums and Galleries are committed to collecting objects and stories that reflect contemporary Leeds people and our city and region’s diverse communities.

We are always looking to gather more people-focused material to add to our growing digital and object collections.

Community Exhibitions and Displays

We host a number of community exhibitions and displays across our museums and galleries. If you have a story to share or an idea for an exhibition, please get in touch and we will be able to provide support and guidance to help you display your work.

Share your stories

We work with members of the local community to curate displays and weave their memories into our exhibitions.
