Pour yourself a cuppa, put your feet up and read all about Temple Newsam’s first ever festival of tea! Between 2-10 October we’ll be celebrating Britain’s much loved brew with tea dances, crafts, baking and a good old dose of Yorkshire Tea.
Tea and a Twirl
Sat 2 Oct | 11am & 1pm | The Picture Library
Take a dance lesson with Arbeau in the Picture Library followed by refreshments in the Still Room. £15 including admission to the house.
Stitch and Sew
Mon 4 Oct | 1.30pm | Walled Garden
Sew your own tea bag and chat to our team about the medicinal herbs grown in the Walled Garden. This event is restricted to ten people. Just turn up but places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Afternoon Tea Etiquette
Tues 5 Oct | 1pm | Dining Room
Afternoon tea etiquette taught in grand surroundings of Temple Newsam House with a cuppa included. The workshop will be delivered by our very own Lady Hertford. £15 including admission to the house.
Tea Tastes Talk
Weds 6 Oct | 1pm | Dining Room
Join our Tea Tastes Talk on tea varieties, tastes and blends delivered by a member of the Yorkshire Tea blending team. £15 including admission to the house.
Creativ i Tea
Fri 8 Oct | 1.30 – 4.30pm | Still Room
Create a Camellia Sinensis tea flower. The workshop will be led by local artist Sandy Holden. £15 with a cuppa included!
Tea from Scratch
Fri 8 Oct | Home Farm
Learn how to make jam, butter and buttermilk scones from scratch with the team from Home Farm.
We’ll also be serving up Afternoon Tea on the Terrace but it’s weather dependent of course! On drizzly days we’ll make our way to the Dining Room.
