The Doffer and the Fancy: Re-imagining the Machine
29 June 2019 - 29 December 2019
Venue Leeds Industrial Museum
Artist Helen Riddle presents The Doffer and the Fancy, an exhibition of a series of new works inspired by the textile machinery at Leeds Industrial Museum. Led by her interests in sculptural form and textiles, Riddle responds to the detailed workings of cogs, swifts and wheels, inviting us to discover the mill machinery from new angles.
Helen’s sculptures use specialist techniques including wet-felting and needle-felting as well as dyeing, hand stitch, free-motion embroidery, and print.
Part of Index, a Fringe Festival During Yorkshire Sculpture International.
This exhibition is free with normal admission into Leeds Industrial Museum.
