‘OUTing the Past’ Festival of LGBT+ History
08 February 2020
11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Venue Leeds City Museum
Following our first and highly successful OUTing the Past – Festival of LGBT History conference, Leeds City Museum is again hosting this prestigious event as part of a dedicated national network of host cities – showcasing hundreds of years of LGBT+ culture and communities.
This comes off the back of a string of successful projects and exhibitions at museums sites in Leeds and the city’s growing embrace of ‘LGBT History Month’ – which takes place annually in February.
Final submissions are now in and confident of some local participation, we’re looking forward to hearing back from the advisory panel with the list of stories and presenters from which to make our choice.
Early indications are that nationally, there has been an increase in participation on last year – convincing evidence of the growth of interest in LGBT+ history and people’s desire to tell their stories.
We are delighted to announce that West Yorkshire Queer Stories – key partners in Outing the Past, Leeds will also be holding their popular LGBT+ marketplace event in Brodrick Hall at Leeds City Museum on the day, with stalls, activities and attractions.
Watch this space for further updates.
