Dress and Textiles

Our Dress and Textiles collection  details the history of what people have worn in the past, and the textiles they have used for clothes and decorating their homes. There are over 20,000 objects exploring textiles and accessories dating from the 1600s to modern day fashions.

Natural Science

Our collection represents the incredible diversity of life on our planet. Around 750,000 inspirational specimens include taxidermy, skulls, eggs, microscope slides and skins, shells, plants and fungi. The collection is a place to view extinct species, learn more about the life we share our planet with and is a crucial resource for biodiversity conservation.
