Access information
We aim to provide a friendly, accessible environment for all our visitors and the widest possible access to our building, exhibitions and collections.
What3Words
What3Words is a location app which provides exact location points based on 3 metre squares. Every 3 metre square of the world has been given a unique combination of three words which can be shared with friends and family, emergency services and more to pinpoint locations easily.
We have provided What3Words locations for key areas of our attractions to help you navigate your visit.

Accessible parking
There are two designated accessible parking spaces in the free car park at Leeds Discovery Centre. Access from the car park to the entrance is up a long and gradual ramp. An accessible ramp at the back of the museum can be used for evacuation in emergencies.
Accessible toilets
There are accessible toilets on both floors of Leeds Discovery Centre and facilities in the accessible toilets include emergency alarms and fire alarm with a flashing light. These toilets are not RADAR key operated.
Baby change
Baby change facilities are available in the accessible toilets on both floors.
Assistance dogs
Guide and assistance dogs are welcome and we can provide dog bowls on request.
Wheelchair access
A wheelchair is available to borrow for visits. Unfortunately we cannot provide assistance around the museum for wheelchair users. Please contact us in advance of your visit to ensure the chair is available.
The education spaces and store are all situated on the ground floor of Leeds Discovery Centre and are fully accessible. We have a lift to the second-floor meeting room and offices.
Induction loops
Induction loops are in place in the entrance foyer, the meeting room and education room.
Special Educational Needs and Access
