Explore Kirkstall Abbey, your feelings and experience of it, using textures, nature and words to make an artist's book. With artist Lynette Willoughby and poet Clare Wigzell.

Join us to make a creative artist's book inspired by Kirkstall Abbey.

We'll meet outside the Visitor Centre at Kirkstall Abbey and explore the Abbey, with help, using rubbings, drawings, words and collecting nature. Then move to Abbey House Museum and have fun making a simple artist’s book filled with your finds and creations from the abbey along with collaged additions.

And take home your own special creative book at the end!

All materials provided. Tea, coffee and cake included.

This event takes place over two venues (the Abbey and the museum), please email kirkstall.abbey@leeds.gov.uk to make us aware of any access requirements. You may follow the accessible route around the Abbey but please be aware surfaces may be slippery at times.

This event also ties in to the Literature in Leeds: Prose, Poetry and Plays exhibition at Abbey House Museum.

Suitable for ages 18+. No previous experience necessary.
