Drawing on Victorian artifacts in the museum's collection and the streets of Abbey Fold, we will tune into voices of characters who may have lived in Leeds in the 19th Century and find creative ways to weave their history with our present.

In this writing workshop, we will explore the museum, acquaint ourselves with extracts of braided narratives and experiment with our own, considering how connections and juxtapositions between different perspectives, time periods and voices can form a truly original story.

Over 16s welcome, especially those who love working class history and/or have never heard of a braided narrative.*

This event ties in with the current exhibition 'Literature in Leeds: Prose, Poetry and Plays'.

Hot drinks and light refreshments included.

*Braided narrative - a story or essay that weaves together different stories, characters, time periods, perspectives etc into a whole to highlight connections between them.
