Find out why Easter is the most important celebration in the Christian faith and learn about the history of Lotherton Chapel and its objects. 

You can choose from 17 events happening every day at 2pm across the school Easter holidays -  ranging from concerts and 30-minute talks, to family crafts and bunting making. 

5 April - Talk: Ross Holden will talk about the traditional Easter message and the answers it offers to many in the Christian faith.

6 April - Talk: Pauline Kearton will tell the Easter story and share its historic connection with the Old Testament. 

7 April - Tour: Come to a tour of Lotherton’s medieval chapel and learn about the objects it houses.

8 April - Talk:  Stephanie Davies, Community Curator, will talk about the history of women at Jesus resurrection and how they pushed the boundaries of tradition.

9 April - Crafts: Children’s crafts related to the Easter story

10 April - Tour: Come to a tour of Lotherton’s medieval chapel and learn about the objects it houses.

11 April - Talk: Jess and Sarah, History of Art students at York University, will give a talk about Christian Art Down The Ages.

12 April - Talk: Jami Higgins will talk about Jesus of the New Testament Bible and look historically at who he was as a Christian figure

13 April - Concert: Come and hear Ainsty Choir perform in Lotherton Chapel singing Easter songs and celebrating Spring.

14 April - Crafts: Children’s Easter suncatcher crafts

15 April - Talk: Jonathan Anderson, a Yorkshire-based vet and speaker will share the centrality of the image of the cross in the Christian faith.

16 April - Talk: Peter Robinson, will talk about the message of Easter and the hope it brings, both within the Christian community and more widely.

17 April - Crafts: Decorate some bunting with pictures of flowers and spring animals to brighten up Lotherton’s chapel at Easter.

18 April - Tour: Adam White will give a tour of Lotherton’s medieval chapel and talk about the objects it houses.

19 April - Concert: A selection of contemporary Easter songs from Caelen and friends (family concert)

20 April - Crafts: Create a design for an Easter mug to take home

21 April - Talk: Paul Goodwin will share how faith can bring hope and comfort in difficult times.

Easter Events in the Chapel are free to Lotherton members and community groups. Non-members pay estate entrance only.
