Join Leeds Chinese Community School on the 1st of Feb 2025 for a vibrant day of free workshops, live performances, and cultural activities in the stunning surroundings of Temple Newsam House and its renowned collection of Fine and Decorative Arts.

About Leeds Chinese Community School
Founded in 1966, Leeds Chinese Community School (LCCS) is a dedicated charity supporting over 200 children and young people each week. As a cornerstone for the Chinese community in Leeds, LCCS offers language classes, cultural workshops, and community events that celebrate and preserve Chinese heritage. Through its inclusive approach, LCCS fosters a sense of belonging and cross-cultural connection, engaging over 100 families and bridging cultural experiences across Leeds.

Workshops 

Traditional Chinese Dance Workshops 
Time: 11am–12pm, 12-1pm | Location: Ground Floor Still Room  
Donation welcome: PAYF (drop in) 
Capacity: 15, family friendly  
Join dancer Yuqi Wang for a workshop exploring the elegance of traditional Chinese dance. Open to all levels, this session invites you to connect with Chinese culture through graceful movement and expression. 
 
Calligraphy and Chinese Painting Workshop 
Time: 11 – 11.30am, 11.30am - 12pm, 12 - 12.30pm, 12.30 - 1pm  | Location: Ground Floor Education Room/Learning Space 
Donation welcome: PAYF (drop in) 
Capacity: 25, family friendly  
Join fine artist Ssu-Yu Yeh for a drop-in workshop to explore the beauty of Chinese painting and calligraphy. Discover the richness of Chinese culture in this creative and welcoming session!
