Join us in Leeds for the first national Access in Museums Conference. 

In partnership with GEM (Group for Education in Museums) and YAMN (Yorkshire Accessible Museums Network).  

Hear inspirational ideas on access and inclusion in museums from gallery interpretation, education resources, employment and more. Key notes include Sam Bowen, founder of SEND in Museums and Joanna Grace founder of The Sensory Projects.   

You will be asked to choose your preference of workshops via a form which will be emailed once you have bought your ticket(s). Please note, you can only attend one workshop in the morning and one in the afternoon, per day. 

Tickets £50pp for both days / £30pp for one day

Thursday morning workshop options:

Option 2: Hannah Thompson: Sensational Museum - Running an Accessible Workshop.

 

Thursday afternoon workshop options:

Option 1: Ally Becket - Barnsley Museums: Promoting an honest and objective accessibility offer on your website and online.

Option 2: Leslie Planker-Jermyn: Tyne and Wear Museums Sensory Journeys - Bringing stories to life with your help. 

 

Friday morning workshop options:

Option 1: Jamie Prada and Jessica Starns: British Museum Wolfson Project - Developing a Sensory Trail.

Option 2: Becki Morris and Parmi Dheesna: EMBED - Connection and Belonging in Heritage.

 

Friday afternoon workshop options:

Option 1: Emily Elsworth: Autism and Me ‘Autistic Children Become Autistic Adults’ - Creating accessible working environments within museums.

Option 2: Nicky Mcintosh: Glimmers and Sparks – creating opportunities for children who can’t attend school.
