Adaptation Investigators


Pupils discover how animals are adapted to increase their chances of survival, through behavioural or physical/anatomical traits.

Duration: 45 minutes  |  Cost £50 | Suitable for: Upper KS2, KS3  |  Sessions run: Monday – Friday

Ahead of the workshop we will:

  • Discuss SEND/access needs if required
  • Share health & safety guidance

During the workshop we will:

  • Examine real artefacts from a variety of animals
  • Investigate through a team quiz why the animals have the adaptations and features/traits they have
  • Discuss that these adaptations increase their chances of survival

There is also the opportunity to add these extras to your workshop to enhance your day:

  • Guided tour of Wildlife World to really get to know the animals with our zoo education officer
  • Mini-beast hunt in Captain Wood
