We offer a discounted joint ticket option for combined house and farm visits. Discount applied at the end of the checkout process.

Special events can be ticketed separately and may require general admission. Please check the event information when booking.

Admission to the house is free for members of:

  • Friends of Leeds City Museums
  • Leeds Art Fund
  • Yorkshires Great Houses, Castles and Gardens
  • Historic Houses Association
  • Art Fund
  • Admission to the farm is free for members of Yorkshires Great Houses, Castles and Gardens.
  • Free entry for named MAX card holder and one parent/carer. Leeds Card and Breeze Pass discounts apply.

Free entry does not apply to some ticketed events, as detailed on our individual event pages.

Area restrictions

Occasionally access to some areas of the house is restricted due to weddings or private events. Restricted area signage will be visible around the house on affected days.

  • Bus

    First bus numbers 19 and 19A run to Whitkirk, 1 mile from Temple Newsam.  Plan your journey by bus.
  • Rail

    Cross Gates Railway Station is 1.9 miles away (approximately a 35 minute walk).
  • Car

    From the M1 take junction 46. There is paid on-site parking available across the estate. Please note that on event days there may be road closures & overflow carparks in use.
