We're open as usual


Please excuse our appearance - though the exterior of the gallery is currently scaffolded for essential building works, we're still open as normal.

Access information

Due to building works, there is currently no ramp access to Leeds Art Gallery.

Lift access is available via Leeds Central Library’s entrance on The Headrow where it is possible to take the lift to access the Tiled Hall Café and Leeds Art Gallery.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Exhibition Changover

Following the closure of To Improvise A Mountain: Yiadom Boakye Curates, we're preparing for our new exhibitions Plant Dreaming and 'Don't Let's Ask for the Moon...': Nocturnes and Atkinson Grimshaw. Due to this, two of our lower galleries are closed, along with Artspace until 14 November.

Entrance to the archive gallery is currently only via the Henry Moore Institute bridge link.

The Tiled Hall Cafe, gallery shop, the Ziff Gallery and displays Mike Nelson: M62 (East, West)Portrayals of Women and An Axis of Abstraction remain open as usual.

Entrance to the Helen Chadwick display in the Archive Gallery is currently only via the Henry Moore Institute.

Access to the Archive Gallery: 7 - 17 October there is no step-free access. From 18 October - 27 November there is step-free access via the Henry Moore Lecture Theatre in Leeds Art Gallery.

Yorkshire Sculpture International

Yorkshire Sculpture International is a partnership between Henry Moore Institute, The Hepworth Wakefield, Leeds Art Gallery and Yorkshire Sculpture Park, celebrating Yorkshire as a hub for sculptural excellence.

In summer 2019, the galleries presented the first Yorkshire Sculpture International – the UK’s largest dedicated sculpture festival, a series of exhibitions, international commissions, events and learning programmes.
