Yorkshire Sculpture International
In summer 2019, the galleries presented the first Yorkshire Sculpture International – the UK’s largest dedicated sculpture festival, a series of exhibitions, international commissions, events and learning programmes – with sculpture in its broadest forms on display across the four major galleries and outdoors in Leeds and Wakefield.
We are continually inspired and driven by the growing community of important contemporary sculptors who choose to situate themselves in Yorkshire. Since 2019, the YSI Partnership has directly supported over fifty artists, many of whom have now gone on to gain national and international recognition, through our professional development programme YSI Sculpture Network, and through commissions, acquisitions and exhibitions.
We remain committed to nurturing this vibrant ecosystem, ensuring Yorkshire’s place as a thriving centre for sculpture well into the future.
You can visit the Archive of Sculptors’ Papers which is housed at the Henry Moore Institute and is part of Leeds Museums and Galleries’ collections. The Archive is a rich and fascinating collection which tells the story of British sculpture.
Yorkshire Sculpture International is a partnership between Henry Moore Institute, The Hepworth Wakefield, Leeds Art Gallery and Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
