Join us for four special workshops over the the summer run by the International Feltmakers Association.

Each workshop, participants will be taught the technique of wet felting to create a special keepsake to take home:

-Bud vases with Sue Morgan (5th August)

Participants will make a felted ‘coat’ for a glass tube which will be embellished to make a small hanging bud vase. Participants will blend their own wool colours to give different effects and then wet felt the wool around a resist which will then be opened out to form the tubular shape.

- Poppies led by Linda Hulme (12th August)

Participants will make a felted poppy using a resist to make the petals of a lovely full poppy. Techniques used will be wet felting and sewing. The poppies can then be made into a brooch, or just kept as a felted object.

- Arm cuffs led by Louise Curnin and Tracy Gaytor (19th August)

By the end of the felt making session the participants will gain an understanding of the basic felting process and create their own decorated felted cuff.

-Bowls led by Linda Hume and Tracy Gaytor (26th August)

Participants will make bowls using wet felting and the resist technique, and will make use of wool and also incorporate existing pieces of prefelt (wool that has not been completely felted).

All workshops take place 1-4pm in the café area of Leeds Industrial Museum and have a maximum number of 12 participants.
