Join us for short, family friendly tours of our collection store, with a focus on the Natural Science Collection and the work of the Dead Plant Society.

As part of Heritage Open Week, join us at Leeds Discovery Centre for an open day boasting botanical beauty.

Join the Dead Plants Society at Leeds Discovery Centre for botany related arts & crafts and a behind the scenes look at the Natural Science Collection.

Visitors will be met by in-character visual artist, Jude Kershaw from Run of the Mill History as she gives insight into life as an early 20th century female botanist. Discover how people in this time period used plants for their medicinal properties and get an up-close look at century old herbarium sheets from the Leeds Museums collection. Open to all.

The Dead Plant Society is a project happening with Leeds Museums and Galleries and Space2 to research and expand our herbarium collection. Our volunteers from the project will be displaying their herbarium sheets and artwork from the project.

There'll be some fun botany related crafts available too!

Sensory quiet space available.
