Sir Edward Wood, Lord Halifax, was the last member of the Ingram family who inherited Temple Newsam from Emily Meynell-Ingram in 1904. He sold the estate to Leeds City Council in 1922 and it was then turned into the country house museum you visit today. Learn about his powerful career and his legacy at Temple Newsam.
