Volunteering at Lotherton

Volunteer with us

Set within 54 tranquil hectares of historic landscape, Lotherton offers a variety of volunteering opportunities all year around. Whether your interests lie in working alongside animals in Wildlife World, helping our gardening team transform our listed formal gardens or picking apples to be squeezed into our famous apple juice we have a world of opportunities for you.

If you are reliable, dedicated and passionate about making a difference we are interested in hearing from you.

Volunteers at Wildlife World

If you have an interest in all things animals and are looking to volunteer, we'd love to hear from you.

We want to accommodate animal team volunteers to ensure both the goals and objectives of the zoo are met, as well as providing training opportunities for volunteers who have a passion for zoos and animal husbandry.

Lotherton Wildlife World commits to support volunteers with the necessary induction and training to ensure the development of relevant skills and experience.

Volunteers will be given opportunities to learn and develop new skills, meet new people, make industry contacts helping you in future career gaols.

Duties will involve assisting the animal team with some of the routine day-to-day tasks required to run Wildlife World’s animal collection. This includes but is not limited to, preparing and distributing animal feed, cleaning animal enclosures and visitor areas, theming animal enclosures, recording environmental data and much more.
