Gardens at Temple Newsam

A short stroll from the house and farm you’ll be greeted by Rhododendron walk during spring. This area of the gardens is planted with material collected by previous owners of Temple Newsam and has developed beautifully over the years.

Within the walled garden you can discover 800 yards of outstanding herbaceous borders, rose beds and herbs set within the original brick walls, a truly peaceful spot to take a break. The walled garden includes a dramatic display of delphiniums which can be enjoyed at their best in early summer.

Wander through the formal south garden adjacent to the house, and take it in from the south terrace. This garden reflects 17th century design with beech and box hedges, trained laburnum arches and a pleached hornbeam walk.
