Virtual Classroom: Meet Florence Nightingale
Who was the Lady with the Lamp and what made her so famous? Give your pupils the opportunity to dial back in time and ask Ms Nightingale all their burning questions. Florence will be delighted to meet your class and share her memories including her experiences as nurse. Take a virtual tour of Lotherton Hall, home to her cousin Gwendolen Gascoigne and get up close to real Victorian objects.
Virtual classrooms are delivered via Zoom Pro. Meet Florence Nightingale workshop includes:
- Listening to Florence’s stories about her childhood and her connection to Leeds
- How she campaigned for healthy hospitals and hygiene
- Explore real Victorian museum objects
- Ask Florence anything (pupils’ questions sent in advance)
Supporting worksheets and resources will be provided in advance, along with detailed information about what teachers and pupils will need for the workshop.
