Community exhibitions and displays

We have a number of flexible spaces located across our attractions for communities to use. If you have a story to tell and want to share with the wider Leeds community, get in touch to see what we can do to help.

Use of our spaces is free of charge but all proposals must be submitted in writing and emailed to [email protected].

Working together

Our aim is to empower local communities by providing spaces to showcase different cultures are heritages. We work with a range of community groups across the city but are always looking to reach new groups and organisations.

Whether your group is already working with us and our object collections, or your story has been inspired by the city of Leeds, our community spaces could be the ideal place to display your work.

Ideas and themes

Our community programme is open to all and considers many themes and stories.

Ideas for exhibitions can come from different areas, including:

  • Communities who approach us with stories or objects specifically related to their group
  • We might use current social or political issues as a starting point, working with a number of organisations to draw on their expertise, stories and collections.
  • Using aspects of the Leeds Museums & Galleries collections and working with communities, drawing on their experiences.
