Moi Tran - The Text is Restless

An experiment in performing language at Leeds Art Gallery. A system of language communication exists in our every encounter. Yet do we question how this conditions us? In this original text performance installation, multidisciplinary artist Moi Tran invites us into a process of unthinking our relationship to language, in both thought and form.

A large-scale text sculpture will fully occupy the Central Court at Leeds Art Gallery; this meditative, interactive work interrogates how meaning shifts when language structures are disrupted, gaps are nudged and text is reassembled. Over 9 days, activators are invited to engage in a process of deciphering clues sent directly from the artist to unlock the text, moving and shifting the text sculptures to reveal the message.
