What is open?

Thwaite Watermill is now open. Our opening times are:

Sat – Sun: 12 – 4pm (last admission at 3pm)

Thwaite Watermill is also open Tues – Fri: 10am – 4.30pm during the Leeds school holidays (last admission at 3.30pm). The site is closed on Mondays (excluding bank holidays).

All outdoor areas, Thwaite House, the mill buildings and shop will be open from the above date.

Do I need to book?

We do not have a pre-booking system. Please pay on arrival. We prefer card payments but do accept cash.

Your visit

We request that visitors follow the below guidance to protect everyone:

  • Please wear a face covering
  • Sanitise your hands at regular intervals
  • Maintain social distancing
  • Follow the visitor route. There is additional signage in place to guide you through.

We encourage everyone to bring their own hand sanitiser and all visitors must complete track and trace upon entry.

Toilets

All toilets are open for the use of museum visitors with extra cleaning measures in place. Please bring your own hand sanitiser or use the hand sanitiser provided. Please be respectful and form a socially distanced queue if there are others using the facilities.

Are you taking group and school visits?

We are taking group bookings in line with government guidelines. Please email [email protected] if you have an enquiry regarding school visits. Also explore our range of virtual workshops available through Leeds Museums and Galleries.
