Temple Newsam boasts three lakes or ‘Menagerie Ponds’, each with a different feel. The lower lake is simply set in parkland; the middle lake which is the largest of the three is bordered by beds of damp loving perennials including candelabra primula and hostas.
Cross the bridge and bear left to find the grass and bamboo garden bordering the small top lake, then follow the path as it rises towards the Walled Garden.
