Two hands together holding a baby chick

Guided Farm Tour

For Key Stage One/EYFS: we focus is centred on looking at the different livestock we keep; what they eat; what mums, dads and babies are called; the sounds they make; their individual characteristics etc.

Pupils will also learn the Makaton signs for each animal. A great way to help develop communication skills & support language development as well as aiding recall of the session on return to the classroom!

For Key Stage Two: meet the livestock and explore themes of changes in farming over time, sustainability and food production.

For Key Stage Three: find out more about different careers in agriculture and gain insight into how we manage the natural resources of Temple Newsam.

Duration: 2 hours  |  Suitable for: Early Years, KS1, KS2, KS3, SEND  |  Sessions run: Tuesday – Friday

Ahead of the workshop we will discuss SEND/access needs if required and share health & safety guidance.

During the workshop we will deliver age appropriate, NC linked content and experiences geared toward your specific learning objectives back in the classroom.
