Urban Nature Project
The Urban Nature Project is a Real World Science project through our partnership with the Natural History Museum.
The project aims to inspire, inform and empower teachers and students, aged 9-14, to go outdoors and get involved with the nature on their doorsteps.
Over the next three years, we’ll be connecting teachers and students with their local environment through teacher training and hands-on outdoor workshops.
We will be sharing resources to help students get outdoors, observe nature and ask their own scientific questions.
Workshops
Four of our venues will be running Urban Nature Project workshops:
- Temple Newsam workshops will look at connections between nature and humans with KS2.
- Leeds Industrial Museum will explore the impact of air pollution on biodiversity with KS3.
- Leeds Discovery Centre workshops will run alongside our Dead Inspiring project, and will look at biodiversity in an urban environment with SEND pupils.
