Entrance and navigation
Entry to Leeds City Museum is free.
Visitors do not need to pre-book unless they are attending a specific event.
It is recommended that you plan in advance and check before visiting as some of our galleries may be closed due to staffing.
This Visual Story (WORD, 2MB) shows what to expect when you visit Leeds City Museum. It includes photographs and information so that you can prepare for your visit. It has information about some recent changes and safety measures. It is an editable document so that you can amend and add additional information as required.
We have guidance on entry to the Museum:
- Please wear a face covering in enclosed spaces. This is the recommended government guidance but it isn’t mandatory.
- Personal space is lovely. Please be mindful of this when moving around the museum.
- Feel free to use the hand sanitiser provided, particularly when interacting with the displays.
- You can still use our Track and Trace QR codes if you wish to do so. We advise you do to help keep everybody safe.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19, or if you’ve been in contact with anyone that has the virus in the last 10 days, please don’t visit and stay safe until you are well again.
Some of our interactives are out of action. This is to ensure that the Museum remains safe for everyone to enjoy. Some of our touchable interactives are still in use, and hand sanitiser is provided nearby. As our toys have gone on holiday, perhaps you’d like to bring a toy or book with you.
The toilets and baby change on the Lower Ground Floor are open and we have put the necessary measures in place to help with sanitisation. We will be conducting regular cleaning checks and the toilets will be closed during this time. Please queue outside of the facilities and be mindful of maintaining a distance from others if you are queuing.
Toilets on the First, Second and Third Floors are closed.
Our Changing Places facility on the Third Floor is available on request. Please note that this facility is only for use by visitors who are unable to use the Lower Ground Floor facilities.
