Face coverings

It is now mandatory to wear a face covering in museums, shops and cafés (unless sat at a table) if you are over the age of 11. We will remind visitors to put on their face covering before entering, unless an exemption applies. Please be courteous of others and mindful that not all reasons for exemption are visible.

Interactives

Some of our interactives are out of action including our dressing up areas and Toddler Town play area. This is to ensure that the Museum remains safe for everyone to enjoy. Some of our touchable interactives are still in use, and hand sanitiser is provided nearby. As our toys have gone on holiday, perhaps you’d like to bring a toy or book with you.

We will have a ‘Family Favourites’ trail available when the Museum reopens to have fun exploring with different senses.

Toilets

The toilets and baby change on the Lower Ground Floor are open and we have put the necessary measures in place to help with social distancing and sanitisation. We will be conducting regular cleaning checks and the toilets will be closed during this time. Please queue outside of the facilities and maintain social distancing at all times.

Toilets on the First, Second and Third Floors are closed.

Our Changing Places facility on the Third Floor is available on request. Please note that this facility is only for use by visitors who are unable to use the Lower Ground Floor facilities.
