Join us on every month for an hour of sociable history in Temple Newsam House.

In December, Assistant Curator of Decorative Arts, Caroline Newton, walks us though what makes a house a home, and how we use this to inform how we present a country house. If you look around your own home, do you have a lot of things, or are you a tidy minimalist with everything in its place? A “real” house often has a lot of clutter, so how do we give a true impression of how a country house was lived in?

There’s no need to book ahead, just drop in but please note that sessions are limited to 45 guests and offered on a first come first served basis. It’s free to attend and refreshments will be provided.
