Farm Tour Friday
Date/Time: 06 December 2024 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Venue: Temple Newsam
Price: £3 plus General Admission
Head down to Home Farm for a tour of our incredible conservation farm. Home Farm is one of the largest rare breed farms in Europe with all animals being native breeds from the UK.
The farm has some of the oldest breeds of farm animals in the country including Vaynol cows, Middle White pigs, Bagot goats and Leicester Longwool sheep. You’ll also see lots of different birds including poultry and ducks.
Most of the buildings are original, along with the cobbled yards, and a highlight is the beautiful dovecote which would have been built for the owners of Temple Newsam as a status of wealth.
The farm tour will also give you the chance to find out more about some of our animals and ask our team questions about what it’s like to work there. New-born animals are born all year round so you may get a chance to see a squeal of piglets or a flock of lambs causing mischief.
Don’t miss our interactive areas which bring the original farm to life and look out for agricultural machinery, tools and artefacts which show how things have changed in farming over the centuries.
This ticket requires a General Admission ticket for Home Farm , which can be bought online or onsite.
