The Volsung Vikings will be invading the grounds of Lotherton this June!
Join us for a weekend of Viking activities with living history encampments, thrilling battle performances, kids’ activities, and lots of fun.
The mighty warriors, lead by Jarl Thorstein Oxleg, from the far away Viking lands of Norway and Denmark are set to take Lotherton hall by storm. This is not the first time these famous Volsung Vikings have visited , as, it is thought, in 805 AD they sailed across the treacherous waters of the North Sea to take Lotherton as one of their strongholds before sailing up the River Ouse, to York – the capital of the Viking empire! Visit our Viking encampment to watch a weapons show and tell, a small skirmish and listen to story telling. Your young warriors will be invited to train as members of a Viking army.
Dress up and get involved as we bring history to life!
