Sakura Pop-up Festival
07 March 2020
11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Come along to our family friendly Sakura pop-up festival as we celebrate the opening of Making Japan: Art. Culture. Life. The new exhibition at Lotherton highlights the dynamic relationship between tradition and innovation in Japan, and how the people express their culture through different objects, artworks and clothing.
From Sakura meaning ‘cherry blossom’, this mini festival marks the start of Spring and is a celebration of all things Japanese. Come along to play traditional games including String Figure and Kendama, try your hand at the delicate art of origami and dress up in traditional kimonos. There will be an opportunity to learn some Japanese phrases and the curator of the exhibition will be available to talk to and find out more about this fascinating country.
Drop in, event is included with normal admission to Lotherton.
