Homes of the Gascoignes: The voice of their communities
Date/Time
01 March 2022 - 16 October 2022
Venue Lotherton
Wander the rooms of the Gascoigne’s former home at Lotherton and discover the family’s other properties and estates in this new exhibition.
It has been co-curated with members of the community from around Lotherton (England), Parlington (England), Castle Oliver (Ireland), and Craignish (Scotland). Visitors will discover what life was like on country house estates in different parts of Britain. They will also have the opportunity to see how the Gascoigne family used their wealth to benefit and support communities, connecting people through work, music, art and sport.
This exhibition will link to the eveningwear exhibition in the Fashion Galleries, What Shall I Wear, through stories of parties and fashion that the family were famous for.
