Join us for a wonderful afternoon in the idyllic setting of Lotherton’s beautiful walled garden with Tayo Aluko. His one man show will feature songs, poetry and prose for everyone to enjoy.
Tayo is well known for two one-man plays, each of which featured characters who were singers: the great African-American activist Paul Robeson, and Britain’s first Black judge, Nigerian Tunji Sowande. For this special afternoon, Tayo Aluko showcases his baritone voice in a wide-ranging programme, from folk songs to jazz and opera, with some poetry and prose thrown in.
This event will be performed outdoors in the walled garden and will have limited seating available. Please dress comfortably and be prepared for all weathers as there are no covered areas in the walled garden.
This event must be pre-booked using the ticket link below. Ticket price includes general entry to the estate and the performance. Please remember to bring your ticket or have it ready to show on your phone at the entry cabin and at the entrance to the walled garden.
This event is funded by the government’s Cultural Relief Fund and is part of the #HereForCulture campaign.
#HereForCulture is a movement that unites the public, government and cultural organisations in support of our fantastic cinemas, theatres, music venues, museums, galleries and heritage. By being #HereForCulture, we aren’t just supporting the people in the industry, we’re also supporting communities across the country.
