Celebrate 50 years since David Bowie played at Leeds in this community display at Leeds City Museum, told through the eyes of local collector, Tom the Loiner From Mars.

Combining objects, stories, and oral histories from Leeds-based Bowie fans, this show marks half a century of David Bowie’s cultural influence.

After a long struggle to become the artist, he wanted to be, David Bowie came to Leeds a bona fide star to play two sold out concerts on the 29th of June 1973. Bowie grandstanding his creation of the man from the stars, with his hard-rocking band: Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars.
