The Bridge Project
01 October 2023 - 31 January 2024
Venue Leeds City Museum
See a vibrant display of costumes created by a group of 12 local 18 year olds from East Leeds, at Leeds City Museum.
They designed their own costumes as part of Leeds’s West Indian Carnival parade, inspired by West Yorkshire Police, as a way of examining the role police take in the community.
This called for the young people to think carefully about police powers, what the police do on the streets, and what the police should do by law.
This display hopes to encourage an open conversation between and the coming together of local young people and the West Yorkshire Police Force.
