Get ready for an exciting summer adventure with our Coding a Bear Tracker Workshop! Join us as we discover how technology can help us protect animals, especially bears, from the harmful effects of human activity in their habitats all around the world.
In this workshop we’ll use microcomputers to learn about coding, and proximity sensors that use radio signals. We’ll explore different tracking technologies used by scientists and conservationists, and how they help us monitor the movements and behaviours of bears in the wild. For example, we’ll study how satellite tracking is used to record the movements of polar bears in the Arctic, and how their behaviour is affected by climate change.
This workshop is perfect for beginners who are interested in coding and animal conservation. We’ll provide all the materials and devices needed for the workshop, so all you need to bring is your curiosity and enthusiasm for learning!
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the exciting world of bear tracking through coding. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The workshop lasts approximately 1 hour 30 mins.
