Book a FREE ticket to join our dance performance at Leeds City Museum this May half term!

Free, pre-booked tickets for families of up to 6 people. Booking essential. Limited capacity.*

Watch and join in with this live performance by dancer Shrikant Subramaniam in the large hall of Leeds City Museum. It starts with a short performance of Bharatanatyam classical Indian dance. You can then have a go at learning some of the hand gestures and feet movements to create dance shapes inspired by the animals in the Museum!

We’re excited to have families join us for this dance performance. We are putting measures in place to keep our audience safe. You will be allocated a large yoga mat and chairs/seating for your family of up to 6 people to sit/dance on. This will be a cautious distance away from other visitors and the performer.

Suggested age: Families, over 5 years, all welcome. Due to current restrictions, we’re asking families to stay on their allocated mat/seats during the performance. We know this is tricky but we’ll keep it as interactive as possible in a socially distanced way!

*Please note, your ticket is for entry into the dance performance audience. If you want to also visit the Museum galleries, you may have to queue as we have limited capacities and we anticipate the museum may be popular during school holiday week.

Please follow these safety measures:

Pre-book a ticket for your family/bubble for the performance.

– Each ticket is for up to 6 people to sit together. Maximum 6 people.

– Remain within your family’s allocated mat area throughout the performance

– Visitors over the age of 11 to wear face coverings throughout their visit to the Museum, unless exempt.

– We recommend that those with tickets arrive at least 20 minutes before the event to allow time for entry and track and trace. There may be a queue to enter the Museum.

– We kindly ask that you let us know if you cannot make the performance, so that we can release your place to another family.

– At the end of the performance, please wait on your mat area so that we can stagger exit from the hall at a safe social distance.

– Do not attend if anyone in your group feels unwell or has symptoms

Please note that after the event, if you wish to look around the Museum, there may be a wait if the museum spaces are full. We have reduced our gallery capacities to keep everyone safe.
