Half Term: Calacas Crafts
Join us on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this October half term to celebrate Mexican and Latin American artists by designing your own Day of the Dead mask or assembling your own flower crown.
To help us celebrate Day of the Dead at Leeds City Museum, your family can also add to one of our giant skull paintings!
Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a tradition celebrated in Mexico and across Latin America, where families and friends gather to remember those who have died. They make altars in their homes called ofrendas decorated with calveras (colourfully decorated sugar or clay skulls), calacas (skeletons) and marigold flowers.
Drop in anytime from 10 – 12pm and 1 – 3pm.
