SOLD OUT: The Colour of Dreams & Director Q&A
Date/Time
05 February 2022
1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Venue Leeds Art Gallery
Please note that this event has now sold out.
Join us at the gallery on Saturday 5 February from 1.30pm for a very special screening of Susanna White’s The Colour of Dreams (1989). The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the BAFTA award winning and Emmy nominated director.
Made with artist Eileen Agar in her final years at the age of 89, The Colour of Dreams offers a fascinating insight into Agar’s life as she recounts her story from being accepted as an artist rather than muse to her place as a leading British Surrealist who brought the ‘colour of dreams’ to everything she saw.
British-born film and television director Susanna White has won a host of awards for her film-making. Her early work includes the award-winning documentaries Volvo City and Tell Me The Truth About Love. She collaborated with Tom Stoppard on the mini-series Parades End and brought Ruth Wilson to the screen in the Emmy nominated mini-series Jane Eyre. Her work ranges from the hard-hitting HBO mini-series Generation Kill to the CGI world of Nanny McPhee Returns.
This is a free event but advance booking via Eventbrite is essential.
This event is supported by Leeds Art Fund and held in conjunction with our new exhibition Eileen Agar: Angel of Anarchy.
