Mark Making to Music – Screen Printing Workshop

Artist Sonia Boyce’s Devotional collection is an ever-growing archive which documents the cultural contributions of Black British female musicians on international culture.

Working with community groups across Leeds we have been running a series of music and mark making workshops creating unique improvised patterns to the sounds and rhythms of the music.

We would like to invite you to the next stage in the project where we’ll be learning screen printing techniques with local artist Kirstie Williams to transfer these marks onto fabric to form a collaborative quilt that will be exhibited in the gallery, and you’ll get to take away your own patch of printed fabric to continue your creative projects at home!
