To coincide with the final two weeks of Shifting Perspectives exploring representations of people of African, Caribbean and Asian heritage, Leeds Art Gallery hosts a talk by Dr Alice Correia, art historian and editor of the new landmark anthology, What is Black Art?

Correia brings together the perspectives of a generation of artists and writers who operated with and against the mainstream British art systems during the 1980s, providing access to a rich and multifaceted set of voices.
