In 1846, Yorkshire audiences were enthralled by these two men of African descent. British born circus owner, Pablo Fanque, is buried in Leeds and is mentioned on the Beatles Sgt Pepper album.
Abolitionist Frederick Douglass left America a fugitive and returned an international statesman. Both received amazing support from Yorkshire; how do their rich legacies relate to our social climate today?
