Creativity and Wellbeing Week: Introducing Secular Mindfulness

Settle in for a virtual mindfulness session with practitioner Steve Hart from Leeds Mindfulness, Wellbeing & Spirituality Centre.Our non-religious introduction to mindfulness and meditation sessions have been designed to help you to manage stress and enhancing wellbeing.
There will be two practitioner-led practises in the session which can be practiced at home.
Steve will take you through the process of a body scan which involved paying attention to parts of the body and bodily sensations in a gradual sequence from feet to head. By mentally scanning yourself, you bring awareness to every single part of your body, noticing any aches, pains, tension, or general discomfort.
The second practice will help you to find your anchor breath, which is the practice of using your breath to help focus your mind on one point.
Steve has previously held regular mindfulness sessions at Kirkstall Abbey which we hope to resume in the coming months.
