Hear from passionate women who work in and study women’s history, take a look at our brand new exhibition, and take part in a printing session.

Tea and cake will be provided.

Programme:

Keynote: Emma McBeath, Heritage Manager of the Pankhurst Centre in Manchester.

Emma will enlighten us with an introduction to the Pankhurst Centre, the only museum dedicated to telling the story of women’s fight for the right to vote.

Talk: Sarah Allen, learning and access officer at Abbey House Museum

Sarah will give a talk on Leonora Cohen – Leeds’s very own Suffragette and bodyguard to Mrs Pankhurst.

Talk and tour: Kitty Ross, curator of Leeds and social history at Leeds Museums and Galleries

Kitty will focus on the extraordinary women who feature in our latest exhibition, All to Play For, including Leeds cycling legend Beryl Burton.

Printing session: Inspired by our collection

Take a look at some of the objects in our social history collection and enjoy a hands on printing activity in the museum. No experience required, just have fun!
